Forza Horizon 6’s fifth series update has landed. Dubbed British Automotive, the latest series brings new cars, three of which are new to the Forza Horizon series, along with a new Drift Attack mode.
10 playlist reward cars
As with every new series, the British Automotive update adds a new festival playlist with four weeks of rotating challenges to complete and new cars to unlock. There are a whopping six new cars (of the 10) to unlock in Series 5.
Making its Forza Horizon debut in Series 5 is the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 generating over 770 horsepower, it can be unlocked at 80 points in the festival playlist.
Summer’s festival playlist introduces another new car to the game: the lightweight Ginetta G40 Junior, unlocked at 20 points, which was previously seen in Forza Motorsport. Earning 40 points this season also unlocks the McLaren 620R, which was limited to the Car Pass in Forza Horizon 5 and was already available in the game.
Autumn, meanwhile, sees the return of the Jaguar XKR-S GT grand tourer (unlocked at 20 points) and Mini John Cooper Works GP hot hatch (40 points).
Moving onto the winter playlist, the quintessentially British Vauxhall Astra VXR makes its Forza Horizon debut (but was in Forza Motorsport) alongside the Bentley Bentayga. The luxury SUV was already in the game, but only as a Wheelspin reward. These are unlocked at 20 and 40 points, respectively, during this season.
Spring concludes the series with two lightweight Lotus sports cars: the Esprit V8 (unlocked at 20 points) and the two-seater Emira (40 points).
In addition, four new-to-Horizon cars join the paid Car Pass: the 2025 McLaren W1, 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, 1998 Renault Sport Spider and 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe ‘Luftauto 002.’
As part of the theme, several British cars will be discounted in the Aftermarket dealership during the series. Two rare cars usually restricted to Wheelspins will also be available for a limited time: the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and 1961 Jaguar E-type.

Drift Attack
The other main highlight of Series 5 is the addition of Drift Attack, a new permanent game mode located at the Shimanoyama Circuit.
Described by Playground Games as “Time Attack for drifters,” it challenges you to score the most drift points in a single lap, with no limit on the number of laps you can attempt in a single run.
Separating Drift Attack from the Horizon Drift and Drift Zones are clipping zones that reward bonus points if you drift within the boundaries. A yellow Wristband is required to enter this mode.
Completing a Drift Attack in the Collection Journal unlocks a custom racesuit and helmet, along with a modified car: the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition.
Alongside the new cars and Drift Attack mode, the update brings a slew of bug fixes and improvements listed in the patch notes below.

Bug fixes and changes (Available from Sep 10 onwards)
General
- Performance and stability fixes.
- Players will now be presented with a pop-up when trying to use a corrupted Prefab. The pop-up will prompt them to redownload the Prefab (Bug 4418203).
Accessibility
- Added the option to set audio language separate to subtitle language (Bug 4447811).
- Added a live preview for the Environment Colour Filters (color-blindness accessibility) (Bug 4377457).
Cars
- Fixed an issue with the 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf where the in-car speedometer did not match the HUD speedometer (Bug 4481577).
- Fixed an issue with the 1970 Porsche #3 917 LH & 1970 Porsche #3 917 LH Forza Edition where the player character’s helmet could clip through the roof (Bug 4487006).
- Fixed an issue with the 2018 Exomotive Exocet Sport V8 XP-5 where the wheels could clip through barriers (Bug 4534145).
Festival Playlist
- Retroactively rewarded all players who played during the Winter or Spring Seasons of Series 4 (Horizon Mascot Party) with completions for all Winter Daily Challenges due to the Horizon Story Challenge not unlocking for some players.
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue with the leaderboard for Chapter 6 of the Drift Club Japan: Drift[1]zoku (Bug 4419443).
- Increased the detection radius for the Lady Aiko Mural Photo Challenge (Bug 4376666).
Horizon Play
- Adjusted the number of laps for certain Events in Horizon Play depending on the Car Class and length of the Event (see below) (Bug 4382221 & Bug 4385147):
- Daikoku Circuit – increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Electric Town Circuit – reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Highway Circuit – reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Hokubu Circuit – increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Irokawa Circuit – increased to 5 laps for all classes.
- Kawazu Nanadaru Scramble – reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Legend Island Circuit – reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Legend Island Circuit – increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Narai-Juku Circuit – increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Shimanoyama Circuit – increased to 5 laps for all classes.
- Soni Circuit – increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Developer Notes:
- We have reviewed the length of all circuit races in Spec Racing, to give a more consistent race time across circuits. This has been adjusted per class, based on lap times for the class.
Visuals
- Fixed an issue where cars would sometimes have misplaced wheels (Bug 4499080).
- Fixed an issue with exhaust locators appearing on electric vehicles (Bug 4510222).
- Fixed an issue where other players’ character models were not appearing in their cars at lower graphical settings (Bug 4452339).
- Fixed an issue with raytracing not working on Intel GPUs (Bug 4501614).
- Based on performance telemetry we have made a change to improve car rendering quality for players using the High preset on PC (Bug 4418166).
- Developer Notes:
- The player’s car now uses a higher quality model when the ‘Car Level of Detail’ graphics option is set to the ‘High’ setting. All other settings Low, Medium, Ultra and Extreme remain unchanged. Most players using this setting should not encounter any issues from this, other than a higher quality car. However, players running unlocked framerates may experience up to 3% GPU increase due to the additional detail. If players want to prioritize framerate then reducing this setting down to Medium will match the same quality and performance for the player car as it was before
