Nintendo Direct: Version 1.8.0 Update Brings New Tracks and Rallies to Mario

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe recently got a surprise update for Nintendo Switch 2, but don’t let that fool you into thinking Nintendo is anywhere near done with Mario Kart World. The most recent entry in the beloved racing series just got a fresh, free update to version 1.8.0 that added new tracks and new rallies to the game. Give them a look in this trailer:

So, what can fans expect from the 1.8.0 update? First up, there are 10 Super Mario Kart courses available to play in VS Race and online. They are:

• SNES Mario Circuit 1
• SNES Mario Circuit 2
• SNES Mario Circuit 3
• SNES Ghost Valley 1
• SNES Ghost Valley 2
• SNES Ghost Valley 3
• SNES Choco Island 1
• SNES Choco Island 2
• SNES Vanilla Lake 1
• SNES Koopa Beach 1

As you can see in the trailer, these courses take on the track design of their SNES counterparts, as well as bring back the iconic ? touch panels from Super Mario Kart in order to get items. There are also two new routes to Knockout Tour:

• Propeller Rally: A route connecting Acorn Heights and Airship Fortress
• Turnip Rally: A route connecting DK Pass and Shy Guy Bazaar
