We’ve known for some time that the KTM X-Bow GT2 is in development for sim racing game Rennsport. Now we know, at last, that it will be released this month (September) as part of the upcoming ‘Kings of the Ring’ DLC pack.
The mid-engined race car, the first in the GT2 category for the title, was first teased in February at an event. Banners in the room at the Munich gathering showcased the car, and the road-going GT-XR sibling was displayed in the room.
Announced last month, the set will feature three cars (of which one is the KTM) and the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The Grand Prix layout is already in the base game, while the Deluxe edition has the 24hr layout. Rennsport has since clarified that this is the Green Hell layout without the Grand Prix loop, and Deluxe Edition owners will now receive this additional DLC pack at no extra cost, which wasn’t necessarily the original plan.
We expect the remaining two cars, plus a release date for this content, to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Rennsport has also committed to enhanced AI-controlled rival performance, a road map for future developments and a “major new car manufacturer” confirmation in the coming months. It will also have a dedicated booth at next month’s SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt.
