Milestone’s new open-world arcade racer Hot Wheels Infinite Rush launches this week, featuring over 150 diminutive cars based on the diecast toy car line. Notably, the vehicle roster marks Ferrari’s series debut.
Only a handful of Prancing Horses are available in the base game, including the 365 GTB4 Competizione and the SF90 Stradale hybrid supercar. However, additional models will arrive in post-launch DLC.
After launch, a Ferrari Expansion will add eight Prancing Horse cars spanning the manufacturer’s history, from the Dino 206 GT to the F40 Competizione, named after the company’s founder. These will be joined by the 250 GTO, LaFerrari, F50, Testarossa, Enzo and 12Cilindri, alongside new car and profile customisation options.
A teaser trailer shows the LaFerrari, which famously formed part of the hypercar holy trinity alongside the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder, zooming around the toy city before travelling to a new island via a Fast Travel point.
While it isn’t shown in the trailer, the new location, dubbed Isola Ferrari, will be themed around the Italian manufacturer. It will join the game’s existing four islands: Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville and Drifty Temples.
This won’t be the only Ferrari-themed DLC pack, however. In addition to the expansion, a separate Ferrari Legends Pack will be released and included in the Vehicle Pass, but its contents are currently unknown.
The Ferrari Expansion Pack will not be part of the Vehicle Pass, however. Pricing details and a release date for the expansion are yet to be confirmed.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush sees Milestone’s diecast toy car series switch from Unleashed’s linear racetracks set in full-scale environments to miniature open worlds. Each location features a variety of events, from standard races and eliminations to waypoint checkpoint challenges and Test Drive-style car delivery missions, with hundreds of collectables to hunt down.
