Add us as your preferred news source on Google Add Traxion to your "Preferred Sources" on Google to make sure you get your sim racing news always from a trusted source ← Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown • News 4 September 2026 — 7 minute read By Martin BiggTest Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s upcoming Season 7 update has been unveiled during Nacon’s News from the Pits presentation.Launching on 2nd September, Season 7 will primarily feature a Japanese car theme, a region that was previously underrepresented, with six new cars joining the roster.Among the new cars coming to Season 6 are the previously confirmed Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV, marking the manufacturer’s Solar Crown debut.
The Skyline R34 will be earned by reaching Level 15 of the Solar Pass, while the Lancer Evolution will be a Level 50 reward. These are joined by the newly announced Mazda RX-7 FD3S, which will be available to buy from the dealership, and the Nissan 370Z Nismo, unlockable as a Level 1 Solar Pass Reward. Like Mitusbishi, this will mark Mazda’s first appearance in Solar Crown.Rounding out the new cars in Season 6 are the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and the custom Volkswagen Beetle Buggy Holiday Edition. Both are exclusive to the online store.Alongside the new cars, Season 7 will introduce several quality-of-life improvements, including a new tab for live events, making it easier to access the daily and season challenges and claim rewards.Additionally, spoilers will be removable from select cars, including the Lotus Exige, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline R34, Nissan Skyline R35, Mitsubishi Evo IV and Audi TT RS.Tyre grip will also be improved for hypercars to make the physics “more consistent”, as demonstrated in the presentation with a drive in the Koenigsegg Agera RS.
A pit lane will also be added to Hong Kong Island’s racetrack alongside 3D modelled speed cameras and checkpoints. After its September launch, a mid-season update will add the ability to change rim sizes and new third-person chase cameras. A “big partnership” is also teased, with more to be revealed in October’s Solar Club letter.Season 7 was originally set to introduce the Official Racing Centre, a new location where players can meet and enter online races. This has been postponed while the team prioritises developing houses for Season 8 after Nacon filed for insolvency, leading to job losses at KT Racing.
